State Championship game tomorrow!

The Warroad Warriors knocked off St. Cloud Cathedral 5-3 in a barnburner today to avenge an earlier loss and advance to the State Class A Championship game tomorrow. We will be facing the Breck Mustangs, a powerful private school from the Twin Cities who looked like a machine in throttling the number one cede and previously unbeaten Little Falls Flyers 6-1. Why can't it ever be easy?

I can't believe I actually listened to the third period.

Seriously. I may be a MN native, but I'm retired here in Texas after a career in Nevada, and I'm grabbing a link to an audio feed off the Trib website and listening to the last part of the second and all of the third periods, trying to summon a vision of what's going on.

Warrior goal? Tie. Warrior goal? Tie. I didn't relax at all until the Warroad kids scored that empty-net goal with what? 57 seconds left? Even then, I was tense - just not as much.

And it's never easy because well-coached kids never give up.

Good luck tomorrow, Dennis. And thanks for reviving the hockey spirit in someone who hasn't actually played the game since he had good knees, good ankles, all his teeth, a deliberately flooded tennis court, and the NORTH Stars were still in Minnesota.

I'll be listening (except when I'm buffering).

And then, sometimes the other team gets lucky.

The season ended on the wrong side of the score in the championship game. Your kids out-hustled Breck, they out-shot Breck. But Breck still ended up with a couple more goals than the team I was rooting for.

And, of course, I'm not nearly as sad/frustrated/disappointed at the loss as you are. I don't know your team, and I don't, in any real-world way, know you.

But Warroad wasn't picked to be in that title game at all. Respected coming in? Yes. Of course. One of the top two seeds? Not this year. So you went further than you were picked to go.

And along the way, you got an old retired English teacher living in Texas to listen in on the Minnesota High School Hockey Tournament, screaming at his computer to the point that his wife questioned his sanity (not her fault - she's a Washburn grad).

Hey Amerloc!

Thanks for the support! And tell your wife that I'm a Minneapolis Southwest grad. Washburn was our arch-rival when I grew up. In fact, we beat the Millers both my junior and senior year to make it to the state tournament in 1968 and 1969! Football was a different story, however. We won't talk about that.

On the off chance that the individual that gets the cash goes bankrupt, the loan specialists obligation won't be released.

It can't be focused on enough that taking out a payday credit is not for everyone needing some very late subsidizes. Why? All things considered, so, a payday advance is a transitory answer for a fleeting issue.
